Your child's Christening is a special and spiritual event meant to be shared with family and friends. Whether you're planning a small get-together at your home, or an elaborate reception to celebrate, you'll want to commemorate this important day.
All cultures have rituals or ceremonies to welcome a soul’s entry into the world. A child's blessing, naming, christening or baptism, are all ways to acknowledge, honour, celebrate, dedicate and give thanks for the gift of a new child in the life of both the family and the larger community.
Another purpose of the ceremony is the intention of opening the child’s awareness to, and promoting connection with, its sense of self as a spiritual being. Family and friends also dedicate themselves to supporting the new child. Rituals or ceremonies create the context through which this recognition and designation can take place.
